Biography

Gold was a dealer with an establishment specializing in French paintings, on the Victoriastrasse in Berlin opened in 1927. Prior to this he had worked with Cassirer, Berlin, and spent several years as a dealer and appraiser in Paris. He worked frequently in partnership with the London firm of Alex Reid & Lefevre. Gold fled Germany in 1933 and went to Paris, which he later also fled because of the Nazi occupation. In 1941 Gold emigrated to the United States.
