Biography
Emily Eastman, an early American folk painter, was born in Louden, New Hampshire. Between 1820 and 1830, she produced a series of watercolors of fashionable women there. Many were copied from prints Eastman had seen, and most were stylized through sinous curves and sharply defined lines.
