Biography

Gustave Tempelaere set up his Parisian gallery on the rue Laffitte in 1867. In 1865 he had married Felicité, the sister of the dealer Hector Brame (1831-1899), whose own gallery was also on the rue Laffitte. Tempelaere represented, among others, the still life painter François-Saint Bonvin and the artist Henri Fantin-Latour.
