Biography
Jean Marende was a goldsmith of Bourg-en-Bresse who was commissioned to produce a large gold medal by the town of Bourg for presentation to Filiberto II of Savoy and Margaret of Austria on their visit in 1502 (NGA 1957.14.1123.a,b, and NGA 1942.9.164.a,b). A medal of Charles the Good of Savoy, 1504, also is recorded.
