Son of Prince Karl Eusebius [1611-1684], Prince Johann Adam followed his father's example in enlarging the family art collection and other assets. He was responsible for the "Fideikomiss," a family contract written ten years after his death (1722) that maintains that the art collection and property in Vienna would belong to the reigning princes of the house of Liechtenstein. He was succeeded by Prince Joseph Wenzel I, [1695-1772] who reigned from 1712-1718.
